  1. 500 gm shrimps or chingri mach or fish, deveined, washed,
  2. For Marination..
  3. 1/2 tsp salt,
  4. 1/2 tsp haldi powder,
  5. 6 tbsp mustard oil,
  6. Whole Garam Masala...

  8. . 1 pc dalchini,
  9. 4 laung,
  10. 1 bari Elaichi,
  11. . 1/2 tsp kali mirch sabit,
  12. 2 med sized onion sliced,
  13. 1 tsp garlic paste,
  14. 1/2 tsp ginger paste,
  15. 1/2 tsp haldi powder,
  16. 1 tsp red chilli powder,
  17. 2 tsp dhania powder,
  18. 1 tomato roughly chopped,
  19. to taste, Salt
  20. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder,
  21. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
  22. 2 tsp desi ghee,
  23. 1 cup coconut milk,

Steps to make to make Chingri Malai Curry or Shrimp Coconut Curry

  1. Take a mixing bowl, add prawns, haldi powder & salt, mix it well, keep it in the fridge for 1 hour.
  2. Take a wok or deep bottom pan, add 3 tbsp oil, heat it.
  3. Add prawns, stir fry it until light brown. Take out in a bowl, keep aside.
  4. Add rest of the oil in the same wok, heat it.
  5. In goes whole garam masala, saute it for a minute.
  6. Now add onion, stir fry it until light brown.
  7. Add ginger garlic paste, also add lil water, saute it until rawness is released.
  8. Add in haldi, dhania & red chilli powder, mix it well. Add a splash of water to avoid burning. Cook it until oil has oozed out.
  9. Now add tomato & salt, give a stir. Lower the flame, cover it with the lid, cook it until tomato becomes mushy.
  10. Open the lid, increase the flame, add Kashmiri red chilli powder & garam masala powder, mix it well. Add ghee also, stir it for a sec.
  11. In goes coconut milk, mix it. Lower the flame, cover it again, cook it until oil has oozed out.
  12. Open the lid, increase the flame, add shrimps, stir fry it for a minute.
  13. Now add 2 cup boiled water, mix it well. Let it boil. Lower the flame, cover it again, cook it till gravy becomes saucy.
  14. Turn off the flame, open the lid after 10 minutes.
  15. Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with chopped dhania patta & slitted green chilli.
  16. Can be served along with plain rice..
